On Saturday 18th March Halesowen swimmers travelled, with vocal support, to Redditch for the second round of the Worcester Winter League. Early results pointed to a two horse race with Redditch & Pershore battling it out whilst Halesowen trailed in third. With 4 races to go Halesowen were still back in third, then came the final four relays… 2 wins and 2 second places propelled Halesowen just above Pershore to a well fought 2nd place on the evening.
Individual winners on the night were: Ryan Larkin (15 & under) in both 100m breaststroke & 100m butterfly, Tegan Turley (11 & under) in the 50m freestyle, Mark Laing (open age group) & Euan Vaughan-Hawkins (15 and under) both won their 100m backstroke whilst Emma Osborne and Jack Simpson produced a clean sweep in the open age group 100m freestyle.
